about me

been deeply and professionally involved with interactive media for over 20 years. dialectic was formed at nyu undergrad film where my heroes and mentors were george stoney and julia keydel.  and nyu grad interactive telecommunications program where my heroes and mentors were martin elton and art kleiner.

interesting work for consumer reports turning a closed, inward facing organization into an open, interactive community of internal and external collaborators.

work for familyeducation.com uniting quiet and disparate local online communities of thousands of parents into active, vibrant organizers, speakers, writers, philosophers. and building a b2b site for financial planners with the planners creating all the content, all the action. building a community of highly skilled woodworkers, turners, based entirely on user-generated content.

pay for content is certainly not my mantra, but i’ve found myself at the center of that concept often enough to have my friend mark plakias call me a disciple. happy to discuss.

anthropology of social media and online communities. and i love the interweb tubes machine.
